Furmint - Erzsébet Pince Winery

​​​​​​Erzsébet Pince is a family estate winery. Varying vintage to vintage, the production of the Winery is 12 to 15 thousand bottles of wine a year, every drop of which is made from grapes grown on the excellent local historical grand cru and premier cru sites classified by renowned 17-18th century Hungarian polymath Matthias Bél. The winery business is run by four members of the owning Prácser family who achieve a highly efficient distribution of tasks. The winery is proud of their single vineyard dry wines. Aszú is only produced in the best vintages and is made with the utmost dedication. Every wine varietal is produced in limited batches, from grapes originating from  sustainable and organic vineyards. Since 2009 American expert consultant Ronn Wiegand MW, MS has been involved in the management of the vinery. The first bottled vintage of the Erzsébet Pince was a 1993 5 puttonyos tokaji aszú.

The Erzsébet Pince winery makes this wine from grapes coming from the historical grand cru site of Mád. The rocky soil typically rich in rhyolitic tuff lends this single vineyard dry wine an unmistakable character. The production quantity is 600 900 bottles a year. The wine is aged for eight months in 225 litre oak barrels made from local (Zemplén) wood by local coopers. The Betsek Dűlő Furmint 2020 is a rich and intricate white wine with characteristic minerality and tropical fruits in its tones.
