Olaszrizling - Fodorvin Family Winery

The family winery was built in 1858 in Aszófő in the Vörösmáli vineyard. Since then, generations of the family have been working to produce the excellent Hungarian wines of the Upper-Balaton region. They aim to continue the legacy of their ancestors with dignity. The winery cultivates nine hectares of land, growing a wide variety of species, producing rosé, white and red wines. Most of their wines are light and fruity, and produced with reductive technology. Their most outstanding, vineyard-selected wines are also produced in wooden barrels. The winery’s success is demonstrated by the awards it has won at Hungarian and international wine competitions. The vinery centre is located in the Káli Basin in Szentbékkála.

Category-winner wine: Aszófői Olaszrizling 2020

The grapes grown in Aszófő, in the Öreghegyi and Vörösmáli vineyards are processed together. The wine produced with reductive technology has a characteristic greenish-yellow colour with citrus and vegetal scents dominating. Its rich taste is completed by pleasant acids. The 2020 Aszófői Olaszrinzling is recommended as an aperitif as well as to go with soups, salads or dishes with white meat.
