Management of cookies used by the Office of the National Assembly

By accessing websites operated by the Office of the National Assembly (hereinafter: the Office), the website may automatically save information about the user’s computer or browsing device (tablet, smartphone, portable smart device), provided that this is permitted by the browser settings, and may store computer “cookies” or other similar programs on the device for this purpose. Ensures that the browser displays the site in the language last used by the visitor, or if the visitor’s browser is set to a particular language (e.g. English) and the site has a version in that language, that it will display it in that language.

Responsible for session storage. Allows you to remember actions taken by a visitor on a particular page, or while accessing a certain feature or service during a visit.

A unique session ID, randomly generated by the application server.

The validity of these cookies only lasts for the duration of the current visit, and they are automatically deleted from your computer when the session ends, or if the browser is closed, assuming that the browser is configured to do so.

Only applicable to logged-in users, does not affect visitors without user accounts.

Time of last interaction with the portal.

high_contrast_mode

A user accessibility cookie, designed to make improve the visual accessibility of the website.

It remembers whether the website was last accessed from the given browser in accessibility mode.

In order to improve the performance and development of the website, the Office uses certain Google Analytics cookies (_gat; _gid; _ga ) for statistical purposes, which provide detailed information on the number of visits. Read more about Google’s cookie management policies here.

Legal basis for cookie management

The Office handles cookies in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The data controller has carried out the balancing of interests test for processing based on legitimate interest, and has reached the conclusion that there is no alternative to data processing, that data processing does not constitute an intrusion into the privacy of data subjects that could be considered harmful, that the rights granted by the General Data Protection Regulation are available and that users can exercise them at any time, and that the user is able to delete cookies at any time in their browser settings. The Office uses cookies and other similar programs to remember

  • whether the user has visited our website before, and whether they visited any other subpages or pages within the parlament.hu domain,
  • what functions and services they have used,
  • what types of information they were looking for, or what they may be interested in.

Rights of the data subject in relation to data processing

The cookies used by the Office in the course of operating of the website do not in themselves allow the visitor to be personally identified. In this respect, exercising the data subject’s rights as provided for in Articles 15–22 of the General Data Protection Regulation is only possible if the visitor identifies themselves and the device they are using in advance. If so, they can submit their request to the Office’s Data Protection Officer by sending an email to adatvedelem@parlament.hu.

Other information about the website operated by the Office

The website also contains links to and from external servers independent of the Office. If the user directly connects to these servers via the available links, the service provider of these external servers may be able to collect user data (and possibly process them in countries that are not considered to be safe third countries for data processing purposes), and the Office has no control over this. We cannot be held liable in any way for any data collection that may occur as a result; these are carried out with the user’s consent, until it is withdrawn, or until cookies are disabled or deleted. Third-party service providers may also use web beacons to collect information regarding user behaviour and serving advertisements.
